This blog will allow me to journal my experiences both on and off the court in upcoming tournaments and travels.

A New Year
It's hard to believe that another tennis season is here. I've put in more time during the off season than I ever have before to prepare for this season. My goals were to become fitter, faster and stronger. I've had small tests along the way to measure my progress, but in a couple of weeks will be the true test. I'll be heading to Houston for the clay court nationals. A few days before that though, I will be playing doubles with a wild card entry into a USTA Pro Circuit $25,000 Challenger event in Ft. Walton. I've played a couple of exhibition matches with my partner, Svetlana and we seem to play well together. This will be great experience for me, and will hopefully help make the tournament a success for Erik. Phil was here this past week and we were able to get in some great hits. The weather was beautiful and our hits were productive. I've got great confidence in my game right now. I'm ready to play. Thankfully Phil will be meeting me in Houston. I'll definitely need some moral support. This will be my first tournament without my Mom and I know my emotions will be all over the place. She loved travelling with me to these events and hanging out with all the players. I know she will be greatly missed by everyone....especially me.
