When I know Phil is playing a tournament match later in the day, I try to keep myself as busy as possible so I don't think (worry) about it.
Today was a busy day, as usual for this time of year, at work. So no problem keeping my mind busy. I knew he was playing at 2:00. My rule of thumb is to stay calm until the two hour mark has passed. Then I know that it's probably a tough match and possibly going to three sets.
It was after 4:00 when he called to say they had won 6-2, 6-3. Worries over. Phil said the match was much tougher than the score indicated. I'm happy they were able to get through this match. Now on to the finals!
I'm not sure what time their finals are tomorrow. They will be playing Phil's partner from the Sterling Oaks tournament Neal Newman and Larry Turville. Again, a beatable team, but will be a tough match. I'll have to keep my self really, really busy to calm my nerves. Not sure what Ellie and I will do to make the time pass. I just hope he can keep his win under 2 hours.
