It seems like Phil has been gone for weeks, or maybe this one week seemed like it dragged on forever...not sure which. Anyway, I'm glad the week is over and Phil will coming home this evening. Not only will he be coming home, but he'll be coming home a winner!
He and Geoff won their doubles final today 7-6 (11-9), 6-3 against Larry Turville and Neal Newman. Friends off the court and big rivals on the court. I haven't had a chance to get many details, but I'm sure it was a well played match. Phil capped off a four week run of tournaments by winning ALL FOUR doubles finals. So proud of him!
Not sure what his (our) next event is. I'll be focusing on getting healthy and I'm sure Phil will be focusing on improving his singles play and fine tuning his doubles. We've got about 8-10 weeks of our work season to get through, then we can finally exhale!
