Almost 8 Weeks?

I didn't realize it has been almost 8 weeks since my lost post. Where does the time go? I do know that the past 5 or so weeks have been consumed with working. Our season has officially hit, and at this point the days just blend together. Long teaching hours, scheduling league matches for 20 teams, and all the other incidentals that pop up in a day. As Phil and I have said many times...we couldn't keep this pace up year round, but for 4 months or so, it's very doable.

Phil has done an amazing job keeping up with his own competitive tennis in addition to his work. Me, not so much. I'm still limping around with a bad wrist. I am able to teach, but not able to take hitting hard balls. Once I made up my mind to deal with my wrist after the season, I felt much better. I have been receiving a special type of massage on just my wrist and it seems to be responding. Surgery is an option if it doesn't improve by April.

The West Coast Super Senior series is four weeks of tournaments played in and around the Naples area. It concludes this week with a cat ll national in Sarasota. Phil played doubles only the first two weeks and won both events with Mike Barnes. This past week he played both singles and doubles. He lost in the singles final to Larry Turville in a tough three setter, then he and his doubles partner for the year, Geoff Cykman from San Francisco, won the doubles. Phil is three for three in winning the doubles....what shoulder surgery? Geoff and Phil left for Sarasota yesterday afternoon, and played their first round singles matches today. Phil won his match after his opponent retired from injury with Phil being up 6-1, 4-0. Doubles start tomorrow. The depth of strength in the 60's singles draw is unbelievable, reminiscent of a cat l surface national. Phil will have some tough matches along the way, and he is capable of winning them all.

Because Phil is away, and we are short handed at work, I may not be as prompt as I should reporting his results, but I'll do my best.
