We arrived in Denver Saturday after taking the scenic route to get here. The morning started with a flight cancellation out of Ft. Meyers, then getting rebooked through Chicago to arrive much later than originally planned. It just made for a long day, but at least we made it.
Having Phil's family living here is great...we have a beautiful place to stay, and we get to visit with family and friends. We're trying to get all the socializing out of the way early in the week so we can focus on the tennis as the start of the tournament draws near. Besides dinner out, barbecues (s'mores over a fire pit!), and a Rockies baseball game, we've been practicing on the indoor hard courts to get used to both being indoors and the altitude. For me the indoor lighting is the toughest. Your eyes eventually adjust, but it's so different than the bright outdoors. Love the fact that the courts produce a true bounce every time and the elements of sun and wind are a non factor.
The draws are small but very strong in both singles and doubles. I play my first singles match on Thursday followed by doubles in the afternoon. We'll get a couple of more days of hitting in and enjoying the family fun before Thursday. I'll post again once the tournament gets underway.
