I had an appointment today in Pensacola with the electrophisiologist. Dr. Verma was very nice, and both Phil and I were very impressed with him. He was extremely thorough with his explanation of exactly what he would be doing. Atrial tachycardia can be treated with medication, but the side effects of the meds over the long haul are not always tolerated by active people. The best course of treatment, in my case, is to bypass the medication and have the catheter ablation. I will go in Thursday, May 27th to Sacred Heart in Pensacola for the 2 hour procedure. They will keep me in overnight for observation then home the next day, a few days of rest, then ease into light activity and I'll be good as new. I'd be lying if I didn't say I was bit nervous. Phil has been wonderfully reassuring and I know that I'm doing what needs to be done. There's no need to let this drag on and become something much more complicated.
I really appreciate the emails and posts of well wishes and prayers. I'll post again to keep everyone up on how things are going.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you. The good part of this "curve ball" in your life is that it can be treated! That is wonderful news. As you know from all of the snowbirds, little gets us down for long. You'll be able to take a little time to "smell the roses"
The Weavers
Marilyn and I know you will come through this fine. We will be praying for everything to go smoothly and for you to be back soon!
