This blog will allow me to journal my experiences both on and off the court in upcoming tournaments and travels.

Beat Down by Southern
We had a tough day against a very strong Southern team. Shelly lost at #3 to Sue Bartlett, Susie lost to Mariana at #2, and Fran was too tough for me again at #1. I played hard, followed the game plan I had in my mind...mixing up my shots and using as much of the court as I could. I got off to a great start and was up a break early for 3-1. She started not missing so much. I thought I was playing well and following the plan, but somehow I was winning points but not games. I lost the first set 6-3. We battled for two hours and she won the second set to take the match 6-3, 6-2. I was disappointed. I felt I did some things well, but still need to improve on so much more. Fran is a great competitor and good friend. My day will come. We now play for third and fourth tomorrow against Northern Cal. They're good but I think they're hurting with injuries. I'll have a tough match against Carolyn Nichols tomorrow. I needed to play good matches this week and I'm definitely getting that. Phil and I will leave tomorrow after our matches are done, which will get us home late. It's been an awesome week!
