Off Day

It was nice to have a day off from playing today. I actually wouldn't have minded playing, but with an off day I was able to recharge and get ready for tomorrow. Our morning started with a nostalgic visit to Merion Cricket Club. Phil and I both have wonderful memories of being at Merion. My Mom was with me the last time I played the grass courts. She loved sitting on the porch looking out at the courts, watching matches and talking to all the girls. Being there again was easy because I could just picture her there. It put a smile on my face.

Afterwards we went back to Germantown for a hit. My body feels pretty good after playing twice yesterday. The hard work with Geoff has paid off. We watched some of the semis of the singles and a little of the doubles too. It was another beautiful day. The weather gods are forecasting rain tomorrow. Rain or shine the back draw will play; indoors if needed. I play a girl from Northern California. She is a very good player and I will have to play well to win. My goal tomorrow is to take a few more chances, be a little more aggressive and look for opportunities to put pressure on her.

Every match is a new adventure.

I didn't get to read yesterday's saga until this evening. I'm sorry Susie beat you. I just know you can beat her. You'll get another chance. I know you had happy memories of your Mom this week. She sure did love to watch you and your friends play. Today sounded like a pretty easy match. I will keep my fingers crossed tomorrow. You are so lucky to have Phil with you. Give him a hug for me. Love you, Tillie
