This blog will allow me to journal my experiences both on and off the court in upcoming tournaments and travels.

First Stop
Phil and I left home this morning at 4 a.m. to make our 6 a.m. flight to Columbus. We are here until we leave Sunday for Philadelphia. Our flights were on time and uneventful. After dropping our bags and putting on our all whites, we began our quest to knock a couple of items off Phil's "to do" list...mainly getting his license tag renewal at the DMV. TWO HOURS later we had tag in hand and very low on energy. The early morning travel was catching up to us. We made it to the grass courts and got to hit around 6:00 this evening. We just wanted to loosen up and get a feel for the grass underfoot. It only took us both about ten minutes to get on the ball and get a good groove going. Once we broke a little sweat we both began feeling better and had better energy. We hit for a good hour just doing some basic things. Tomorrow we'll get on the grass again in the afternoon. My first match in Philadelphia is at 11:30 on Monday against an opponent I don't know. I'm ready to put all the hard work and on court preparations to the test. It's time now to put this incredibly long day to rest.
