Tornado Warning

Phil and I are sitting in the hotel lobby with tornado sirens going off.

The day started out being beautiful; cool, cloudless, windless. I warmed Phil up before his match and he went on right on time. I sat with Jerry McEwen from Memphis to watch Phil's match. As Phil and his opponent were warming up. Jerry predicted Phil would win 6-2, 6-1. I went with Phil winning 6-3, 6-2. Right on cue, Phil won his match 3 & 2. He played well and did what he needed to do to win. We stayed around for a few minutes then were able to get a great hour hit in. We get such great workouts together. Tomorrow he plays Scott Brown from Michigan in the finals at 9 a.m. I'm predicting a win for Phil with a score of about 6-2, 6-2.

After his match we grabbed some lunch then did a little shopping at the Indianapolis Racquet Club. They have a huge pro shop. Fortunately for Phil I'm not a big shopper, so he got off easy. We had a great dinner at an Italian restaurant and when we came out from dinner, the skies were very threatening. By the time we got back to the hotel, it was pouring rain, and hailing. We heard the tornado alarms going off so we headed downstairs with other hotel guests just to be safe. It appears to be all clear now.

Tomorrow we'll go home to Columbus with a quick stop in Dayton.

Congratulations to Phil. The finals sure sounded exciting--I would have to sit there with my eyes closed!
