We started the day with another 8 a.m. practice court. Breakfast followed, then we dropped off laundry and took a short walk to check out the beach. So pretty! It's just a different landscape than what I'm used to seeing on the beaches of the Gulf coast. Phil is nursing a bit of a stiff back so he had a massage to work out the kinks. I read by the pool for the half hour he was getting worked on. The day became very windy, which kept the temps cool despite the bright sunshine.
I started to hang around match control, where the matches are called, around 3:15 for my 3:30 match. Other players started to gather as well waiting to see what court we'd be on. Two hours and forty five minutes later we started our doubles. Mariana and I made quick work of our Spanish opponents and won love and love. The match times for tomorrow were posted around 7:30 tonight. Phil has singles at 9 at Na Taconera, a five minute walk from Font de Sa Cala, and I have singles at 2:30 here at Sa Cala and no doubles. Phil and Tom play doubles at 4:00 at Na Taconera. There will be a lot of shuttling back and forth to watch matches. I play a girl from France who was the number 4 player on their team from last week. Phil plays a Spaniard that we don't know too much about. We'll both go out and do our best.
The matches will all be tough from here on out.
