Sunny Day for Opening Ceremonies

We´re getting ready to take the shuttle to the Tennis Ranch Palmanova, the site of the Austria Cup for the Opening Ceremonies. The Austria Cup has 24 countries represented and the Margaret Court Cup has 20 teams. Phil had his captain´s meeting this morning. The USA is seeded 4th, and has a bye on Monday. The other two teams in their initial round robin are Turkey and Romania. They should come out of that round as winners and potentially face Spain in the quarters. I have not seen Fran yet since her captain´s meeting to know how they fared in the seedings and the draw.

They guys on Phil´s team were able to get a hit in this morning while he was at the meeting. Phil and I went over this afternoon for a good workout. I am the "official" photographer for the ceremonies this evening for the USA teams. I´ll be taking head shots and team photos for the USTA of both cup teams.

I had breakfast at the hotel this morning. then we ventured into town this afternoon in search of food and found a restaurant that has a wide variety of foods. THANK GOODNESS. I know I´m somewhat of a picky eater, but it wasn´t just me that was unhappy with the food quality here at the hotel.

The weather was breezy but beautiful today. Our room faces the Mediterrenean, and as beautiful as the view is, it pales in comparison to the beaches in Destin! Still not able to hook into wifi so no pictures yet.

Dear Myke and Phil,

I guess tomorrow is the day the matches begin for you. I'll be cheering for both of you and know you will play your very best. Plese no injuries of other problems for either one of you.
Love, Tillie
