Go Team Austria

Fran and I did our usual early morning workout so we could spend the rest of the day cheering on all the other US teams who had matches today. The forecast was calling for rain again today, but they missed it big time. It was windy early then turned into a beautiful day. We had our opponents all wrong last night. Phil's team played Great Britain today and we play the Czech Republic instead of Italy tomorrow. I keep saying that everyone is tough, but beatable. I like our chances against any team here. We'll have our work cut out for us, but I feel confident that we'll match up well. The week is winding down and all Cups are to the semis now. There are a couple of US teams that went down today in close matches. Phil and Tom both won their singles matches against Great Britain. Tom went on first and played very well, winning easily. Phil struggled with his serve against Andrew Stanley, but was able to eke out a win. He won the first set 7-5, then lost the second set 6-4. Stanley pulled a groin muscle toward the end of the second and retired in the third with Phil leading 4-1. The doubles didn't play so the guys prevailed with a 3-o victory over the UK. My teammates and I had a good practice session this afternoon playing singles points and some doubles games. Phil and I finished our day with a massage that was just awesome. A perfect ending to another perfect day.
