Travel Gods
The "travel gods" must of been with me yesterday. I arrived at the FWB airport a couple of hours early, fully expecting delays and re bookings due to Hurricane Ike. Not only were flights leaving for Dallas as scheduled, but because I was so early, American re booked me to get on the earlier flight leaving FWB and got me to Monterey at 4:30 p.m. instead of 8:30 p.m.. Everything worked liked clockwork. I was pretty tired, but glad to be here. I'm meeting Mary to get a hit in this morning, and because I did no sightseeing last year, much to my Mom's chagrin, I'm going to check out Carmel and surrounding areas this afternoon. She'd be so proud! Phil won both his singles and doubles yesterday and plays his finals this morning of the Grass Court Nationals. He plays his doubles partner, Tom Smith, in the singles. Then he and Tom have a tough doubles final against Skip Walther and Oliver Scott.
