This blog will allow me to journal my experiences both on and off the court in upcoming tournaments and travels.

A Week to Go
These trips to visit Phil seem like they take forever to get here, then in a blink of an eye the time passes much too quickly when I'm there. I think because we're playing a tournament it will throw a whole different spin on it. I leave a week from today. I'm going to play doubles with a girl from the Cleveland area, even though it looks like there is only one other team in the draw. As I've said before, any and all matches are important stepping stones for my play in the World Individual Championships (and hopefully the team, if I'm selected....Phil and I will both know in early June) I know I have a distinct advantage for playing next week in that I have been playing outdoors on clay all winter (all year) long. Phil for instance, as well as many players from the Midwest, have been playing indoors on hard courts. Getting used to the elements can be tough. Good players can play regardless of the conditions, but the sun and wind can definitely make play more challenging for even the best players.
