A Day Late
I wanted to blog when I returned home yesterday from my playoff match, but the thought of being up right and doing anything productive was more than I could handle. Renee's germs found me, and I've contracted her nasty bug. It started Thursday night with a dry cough, and I woke up yesterday trying to convince myself I could drive to Pensacola and play. I guzzled Gatorade during my drive and pep talked myself the whole way. I played very well against a tough opponent in Renee Tharpe, and won 6-2, 6-0. When the match was over, I sat around to cool off and could feel my body starting to ache from the bug. I made my way home, into the shower and into bed. Renee was feeling a little better, but I needed to go into work today for a short time at least. Thankfully it ended up raining and I've been in bed and on the couch all day. Sleeping seems to be my only escape from feeling so bad. I feel like I've got an elephant on my chest, and jackhammers going off in my head. I know I'll feel better in a few days. I was very pleased with my performance in Pensacola. Finishing third in a national tournament is a great accomplishment.

Congratulations on your match--but too bad you had to get sick--hope you feel better by now. SOB
