This blog will allow me to journal my experiences both on and off the court in upcoming tournaments and travels.

Another National
The 40's and 50's National Clay Court will be played in Pensacola April 1-5. Even though it's not my age division, I'm going to play in the 40's to get some more match play in. What I'm most excited about though, is that Renee and I are going to play in the 40 doubles. It was in Pensacola in 2003 that we won our doubles gold ball, by winning the 40 doubles. Since then we've both had major surgeries that we've recovered from. Hers (rotator cuff and bicep tendon in December 2007) more recent than mine (Achilles tendon and bone spur in August 2004). In fact, last year at this time Renee could barely hold a pencil in her hand, much less a tennis racquet! We've played plenty of practice matches in the past few months, mostly against men. We're looking forward to playing some "girls" tennis! There are tough players in both the singles and doubles draws, but I'm up for the challenge.
