Cross Country Trip

The trip to San Jose was uneventful yesterday. I left Ft. Walton at 6 a.m. and was in San Jose by 11 a.m, and made the 70 minute drive to Salinas with no problem. It was rainy and cool when I arrived, but skies started clearing by the afternoon. I left my bags at the hotel and found the club. It's in a beautiful setting. Because of the rain, there weren't any players around. I'm hitting with my doubles partner Susan Wright today at 1:30. The time difference is a little awkward for me. I'll adjust though. I have a fridge in the room, so I found a grocery store and stocked up on some necessities like Gatorade, fruit, etc...I was really tired yesterday afternoon by the time I got back to the hotel, surely it was close to bedtime. Actually in PST it was only 5:00! I didn't care. In "my" time it was 7, I'd been up since 3, I was going to bed! I watched some football, fell asleep and woke around 6 this morning feeling very rested. I'll get some breakfast, then venture out. I only have doubles tomorrow morning, then singles on Tuesday. It will be good to get a doubles match played before singles, just to get the kinks out.

Hey Myke,

Along with the gatorade and fruit don't forget to throw in the occasional waffle/pancake and crescent...ideally right after matches to replenish and jump start recovery.
Don't go overboard on the servings sizes and syrups as they will lead to sluggishness if TOO MUCH is consumed but never underestimate the power of pizza and starches.

Supportive nutrition always!

Have fun!!!!
