Today is our first official day of summer at Hidden Dunes. We started our summer clinics for adults and kids. With schools getting out, we're starting to see more families make their annual trek to the beaches! Because of my long tenure at Hidden Dunes, I'm now seeing the children of the "children" I used to teach lessons to over 20 years ago. Funny, I don't feel any older!
Renee and I are settling into a nice routine of teaching in the mornings, then getting a good hitting session in mid day. Her shoulder continues to get stronger and stronger. She is hitting her groundstrokes as good as ever. It will be a while until she is able to serve and hit overheads again. Selfishly for me though, I'm thrilled to have her back as a hitting partner/coach. My next tournament is in July on the grass courts of the Merion Cricket Club in Philadelphia. I will have my first grass court workout over the weekend at Sandestin. Chris, the pro at Sandestin, has been kind enough to let me come over to start getting the feel for the grass again. It's definitely a different game and a different mind set.
